About me
Understanding why people behave the way they do, how they tend to reach decisions and to what extent these processes are shaped by the digital environment they navigate has always been a key interest to me. As a PhD Candidate within the Digital Influence Group, I am affiliated with the Center for Language Studies (Department for Language & Communication) and iHub, Radboud's interdisciplinary research hub on Digitalization and Society.
Under the supervision of Philipp Schmid, Hanna Schraffenberger, and Mark Dingemanse, I am studying the risks and benefits of leveraging emerging technologies for persuasive purposes. Specifically, my research surveys the role of artificial agents and generative AI in an increasingly polarized information space riddled with disinformation, conspiracy theories and foreign influence.

Research Interests
Mis- & Disinformation
- Susceptibility: What are root causes for misinformation susceptibility? Which role does trust in media and democracy play?
- Behavioural Policy: What are the mechanisms behind active inoculation? How can we track platform compliance with EU regulation?
HCI & Influence
- Persuasive Agents: How do machine heuristics and source attribution influence the persuasiveness of artificial agents?
- Social Responses: How can software agents evoke social responses? Can they benefit from triggering weaker social responses?
LLMs & Language
- Synthetic Disinformation: How do human-authored and LLM-generated disinformation differ? Can synthetic disinformation circumvent automated detection?
- Language Diversity: Do LLMs result in some sort of "stylistic regression to the middle"?
